The 7th Annual Soul Train Music Awards was held at the Shrine Auditorium in Los Angeles, California on March 09, 1993. The show was hosted by Natalie Cole, Patti LaBelle, and Luther Vandross. “I went to the Soul Train Music Awards…and then Madonna comes over and looks at me and she goes, ‘Girl,’” Perez said. “I go, ‘I got you.’ And he (Tupac) was like, and I said, ‘She wants to meet you,’ and he goes, ‘Hook that up.’ And I hooked it up and I was very happy about it.”
